The Newest, bluest eye: agapanthus aperture

While on a drive yesterday, I passed a very long hedge of agapanthus. By great luck, the individual plants were in different stages of bloom, offering perfect models for photography.
I thought of each bulb or emerging blossom as an eye, and thus the name, "agapanthus aperture".

AFTER-DUSK GLOW

Two nights ago, I was returning from northern Calif. having picked up my brother in-law from the Yreka airport. The 3 of us stopped at a little fishing port, Trinidad, for dinner. We had a 20-minute wait for a table, so I took my camera down the launching pier. Looking through the viewfinder, all was darkness, so I experimented with ISO and SS. I was happy to see that the photos had this glow:

This photo will look strange! The Challenge is "Game on!" I missed the actual event where the slug races - that's right - Slug races! were held, but this score sheet showed the results. I think I would rather read it than watch the real thing anyway. But, I ask, "where else but the Pacific NW would there be such a thing as a slug racing event?!

AT GOLD BEACH - YAY!

So, here I am at Gold Beach, on the southern Oregon coast, for our delicious annual Sistertime!
Yet, what I post here are - flowers! Well, we arrived, two wiped-out, after-dark drivers, late on Thursday. Yesterday was just settle-in day; today was spent at home, so I walked around the woodsy gardens with my macro lens.

26 THINGS CHALLENGE

I have Gold Beach on the mind, because by tomorrow night I will be there! I used these from GB for the subjects noted on each picture.
This one is the historic Gold Beach bridge over the Rogue River. The Pacific is seen beyond the jetty:
This one is for "Aahh". It features D in the hammock. He doesn't show, and neither does the warm plate of homemade cookies I had just taken out and put on his tummy:
This is for "Historic". It is the 90-year-old Mary D. Hume moored just inside the jetty. Does this irk you?: City Hall has been debating whether a (willing) private party or the city should take responsibility for its restoration or even protected display. While politics play, this charming, brave boat sinks lower every year into oblivion!

EARLY MORNING IN THE GARDEN

To be noted right from the beginning: I was experimenting this morning in our yard before it got hot. (I did my yard work first, to "earn" the privilege!) I was trying different focal settings and other settings as well. When I saw these, I was about to pitch them out, then decided I would call them "cloud flowers" instead.
Numbers 1 and 4 were cropped; otherwise, SOOC.
